MLB Plays & Stats from CheatSheetPros!
RECAP: Yesterday I went to the KC Zoo with my sons school class so didn’t have time for an article but I did post screen shots of our favorite plays and stacks in our Flick chat group and the Chicago White Sox were one of those stacks! They put up 12 runs on the board in a great comeback! We also had 1 solid sports bet and that was the Seattle over 8.5 runs, it won and they scored 9! Let’s look at some players for today!
PITCHERS TO CONSIDER:
STEPHEN STRAUSBURG (10500) – If you’ve followed us for a while you know that we hate Strausburg. However I think he makes the most sense today. He is coming off a 41.6 DK point start @ MIA going 8.0 with 0 ER and 11 Ks. Now he gets to face the Padres at home. In his last 3 starts he has a low of -3 points and high of 41.6. So he could boom or bust but I think he has the most chance to boom and pushed 3x compared to the other higher priced studs. <I think Kershaw is still priced to high at 10,200, Syndergaard has only topped 20 DK points once in his 5 starts this year and given up 4 ER+ in his last 3, Jose Berrios I’d consider the guy up there with Straus as he has a 25.4 and 20.5 DK point start in his last two and one of those was @ PHI.>
DAVID PRICE (9000) – 23 points @ TB on 4/21 and now he gets to face them at home. In that game he went, 5.0 innings, 2 ER and 10 Ks. He also had a 32 DK point start before that. He is a good shot to get over the 2x mark. TB is striking out 30.2% of the time as a team vs. LHP (highest on the slate vs. pitcherhand).
JON GRAY (8500) - His last two starts he had 24.5 DK points vs. a tough PHI team in Colorado going 6.0 / 0 ER / 5Ks and then 24.15 points @ SD going 7.0 / 1 ER / 5Ks. He has a solid chance to blow past 2x value and shoot for the 3x mark. ATL is a tougher matchup but he fared well vs. PHILLY so I’m going with him.
JORGE LOPEZ (6600) – Here is your GPP play. For 2x he only needs around 13 DK points. He has put up 13.75, 19.5 and 16.5 in his last 3 starts. Those starts were also vs. SEA, CHW and @ NYY so they were tough matchups. He also put up a whopping 10 Ks vs. CHW on the road so that is giving him some upside at his price point. LAA is a tough opponent with a low 16.1% team strikeout rate and wRC+ of 105.2.
STACKS & PITCHERS TO TARGET AGAINST:
CHICAGO WHITE SOX vs. Ryan Carpenter – So this game may not play today due to weather but if it does I’m rolling CHW again. We had them yesterday and they put 12 runs on the board. Ryan Carpenter has a 6.30 ERA and 1.45 whip in AAA over 20 innings. Yuck!
PHILLY vs. Trevor Richards – Richards has giving up 8 ER in his last 11 innings with 6 BBs and even hit 2 batters. PHI has been sliding down our custom power ranking scale but they still pose a threat with their lineup. PHI is middle of the pack in most of the stats so I won’t bore you with them. Richards has been much worse vs. LHH giving up a 6.60 xFIP with only a 4.8 K9 rate. I’d build around Bryce Harper today (if his dumbass don’t get ejected arguing… again). You have players like McCutchen (.343 wOBA) at only 4300, Hoskins is (5100) but a whopping (.414 wOBA), Franco (.379 wOBA) and on down the list.
